A Facebook friend of mine posted that he went to the Fogg n Suds, a bar in Vancouver, BC. That triggered my memory to remember the Dog n Suds in Champaign. I first went there in 1959 when I was a Freshman at the U of I. My friends and I liked the coney dogs and the root beer. One of my memories is that there was a unique vehicle on display in the front on the side of the parking lot. It was made from the welded together front ends of two 40's vintage Crosleys that had been cut in two.

I always wondered how Mc Donaldson flourished selling crap and Dog n Suds disappeared. Sure wish I had a Texas burger, three coney dogs and fries with a giant root beer down in Tampa.

I remember as a child going to the original Dog and Suds in Champaign, IL. It was on Prospect Ave. and had the BEST rootbeer in the old thick glass mugs. There was nothing like it, and it made me very sad when they changed thier recipe and quit serving it in the cold mugs. When I went back to Champaign about 5 years ago, there was a new one...wasn't the same as the good old one when I was a child.

My husband and I used to go to the Ionia, MI Dog-n-Suds a lot when we dated way back in the 1970 time period. We loved it. It closed before we got married and we didn't know that any still existed. Now we live in the Holland area of MI and just discovered that there are two of them north of us so this spring we plan to make them one of our stops for sure when we go up there to walk trails and sight see. It will be a nice way to celebrate our 42 plus years together.

Just saw a Dog N Suds sign on the Barrett Jackson auction site and checked to see if the Paragould AR store is still open. Yes! My wife and I have to pass Paragould often so I will be stopping in. I used to go there with my dad.

I remember when you had a Dog n Suds around Iron Mountain, MI. I would go there when I was around 9. I wish you had one here in Texas. Much more fun than a lot of other places.

My Mom and Cousin used to own a Dog N Suds in Tell City, Indiana. Back in the 60's. I actually worked there as a Car Hop. It was The place to go in town.. Sort of a meeting place for kids and a great business. Very Busy place. We had the best root beer and Sanwiches there.

Just saw American Pickers on the History Channel where the guys bought a Dog and Suds plastic food display tray. I am new to Ohio and said to my wife that I have seen this before. I looked on the website and there is a location in Elyria, Ohio on North Ridge Road. Wow, what a memory and coincidence! I'll have to check it out as we live about 30 miles away in Sandusky, Ohio.

why did this chain flourish in the 1960's only to get to 17 outlets today? the best root beer I've ever tasted and quality meats used in the sandwiches so must be quality is costly to maintain?

Does anyone remember the Dog n Suds on Lake Street just outside of Addison,IL. Went by there a couple of years ago and it was gone. The whole area developed and swallowed it up. I do miss my Dog n Suds.
